A Technical Proposal
We speak with man who turned proposals technical
Your proposal story is one you will love telling over and over again. It is for this reason proposals should be unique, special, and wholly representative of you as a couple. In this digital age, where every possible interaction can be done digitally it is no surprise that proposals have followed suit.
Sam Brade is one groom-to-be who took the digital age into consideration when he proposed to long-term girlfriend Emma. After purchasing Bang & Olufsen’s new 4K TV - BeoVision Avant, he used the remote engraving service to pop the question. This was a huge shock to Emma who, upon trying to turn on the new device, received a wonderful surprise.
We met with the couple to discuss this unique proposal:
How did the two of you meet?
We met online 7 years ago
When did you know you wanted to propose?
Sam: I had been thinking about it for quite some time and I had known for years that Emma was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
Tell us about the proposal?
Sam: It’s not easy creating a romantic setting when you’re having a TV installed but the way Bang & Olufsen present everything they do is always above and beyond your expectations. The engraved BeoOne remote is no exception sitting pretty like a piece of bespoke jewellery in its black presentation box. I had to make sure the installation team didn’t touch it so I quickly set it to one side for Emma to open and it was certainly worth the wait to see the look on her face.
How did you come up with such a unique idea?
We both have a passion for Bang & Olufsen products and in our world the most used item at home is the Bang & Olufsen TV, which we get endless pleasure from every day. I wanted something (aside from a ring of course) which Emma would pick up, see and use on a daily basis so the beautifully crafted BeoOne remote was an ideal place to engrave the proposal in all its shiny aluminium glory. Most proposals are only spoken but I think this message will be an everlasting part of our lives together.
Emma, were you expecting a proposal?
I had been dropping hints for quite a while but Sam managed to keep everything under wraps. I was expecting it to just say “Sam & Emma” when I turned the remote over, so it was a wonderful surprise.
Where you shocked by the method?
I thought it was a very unique idea and it’s certainly not something anyone else I know has experienced. It was very Sam.
Do you think unique proposals are important?
For sure. It’s a major turning point making a lifelong commitment to someone so it’s important that the proposal is memorable and unique to the couple.
What are your wedding plans?
We are just enjoying being engaged at the moment but we will no doubt start to think about the wedding this year.
